A Total Waste Of Time
Nov. 22nd, 2009 | 11:33 am
I just remembered Ava is going to a wedding tonight and my mum is working later so no Wavves for me. I'm all pumped about ATP though (less than 3 weeks to go now!!!) so I'm not too bummed about it, I'll just try and catch 'em next time. Before that I'm also considering seeing Gay for Johnny Depp, Ok Pilot, Monotonix, Trash Talk, Hawnay Troof (deffos want to go to this one) and Ultimate Thrush (playing at Optimo). I'm also going to Jenna's exhibition night on Tuesday and I dunno if Ben is doing anything for his birthday which is about 2 weeks away.
Yesterday I was over at Teresa and Cara's making jewellery with Cara and Izzy while Teresa went out to a craft fair for a few hours. Teresa's house is in utter chaos because she's having Cara's bedroom plastered and decorated so all the stuff from that room and the adjoining cupboard (they stay in a tenemant which have lovely enormous cupboards) is all over the house. Teresa is a bit of a hoarder so that is a LOT of stuff.
Unsure what I should do today; probably should take a trip into town but also might do some crafty stuff or sewing. I think I need to get glasses. I had them for reading when I was a kid but got out of the way of wearing them when I was a teenager (my eyes were supposed to improve with time and I found I could get by without them). My eyes get kind of tired when I'm doing something close-up, particularly when it's night or the light isn't very good. Anyway, think I'll get an eye test once I'm a bit more organised with christmas presents and stuff.

Guess where I have been chicks and chickettes? I have been to see the Doctor Who exhibition on at the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries - yay! Jenna was supposed to be going with her family but her mum has been really unwell for the past week and couldn't go so Jenna phoned me in the morning and offered me her spare ticket. Turns out I have been rather lucky because it looks like it's totally sold out now - which is a shame because my friend Mark and Ava and Izzy all wanted to go. It was mega fun and geekariffic too - woop woop! Luckily I carry my camera about with me pretty much all the time so there are plenty of pictures...
( Doctor Whooooo??? )
Izzy is taying over at Cara's house right now. Think I'm taking Cara for a while later so Teresa can get some "me" time since she's doing extra work tomorrow. I'm planning to taking Cara down to the fancy bead shop and then going back home and showing her how to make jewellery. It should be fun.
I want to go see Wavves tomorrow night but it looks like it might be quite a popular gig (well, judging from the last.fm gig page and considering that it's in the Captian's Rest which is fairly small) and I'm not sure if I should try and get tickets before rather than just rolling up and paying on the door. Probably if I get one on Sunday it'll be alright, I should get a Gay For Johnny Depp ticket while I'm at is since that gig is at the start of next week. I'm quite looking forward to Wavves, think it's gonna be good!

Fools Rush In

Lordi, I am tired BUT it is because I just booked the bus for me, Jenna, Kmac and Sheps to get down to Taunton for ATP!!! I am so relieved and also glad to have it all sorted. It was mental trying to decide how to get there, plus I ended up having to order coachcards for us all before booking any tickets so we could save a bit of cash. We were gonna get a bus down organised by ATP themselves but it sold out so we had to make alternative plans. Our bus is £25 cheaper (though a bit less swanky)mind you - I hope it is not too hellish. We will be in it for 11 and a half hours - joy! - but on the upside, we can hopefully sleep through most of it since its during the night on the way there (11pm - 10.30am) and on the way back we will be shattered from our festival reveling.
The government owed me some money which I got yesterday so I went shopping for winter clothes today - yay! I got a pair of boots (which were happily cheaper than I expected I would have to pay), two skirts and most of the rest was pairs of tights and basic tops. I want to cusomise some of the tops a bit but otherwise I'm excited to wear it all!
Also, today I was in Zara trying on some stuff - I thought they had like riding jodhpurs, the kind with the leathery bit on the inside of the thighs like Scorpio wears in Scorpio Rising - I was getting a bit carried away with the 'phwaarrr' concept of that but sadly they were noy quite the same (but I should totally get some real ones one day). Anyway, they only had the colours I liked best in 'small' and black ones in 'extra small' (I which I assumed I would need because I'm short and pretty skinny) but I actually could not get the XS ones on my legs! This has never happened to me with adult clothes before, I managed to get the 'small' ones on but it was not easy and I was kinda weirded out by the whole experiance - what kind of freakishly skinny women does Zara cater for anyway?
Oh I am tired and the laptop battery is going to give out so I better go to bed. I'll try to write more tomorrow, honest. x
p.s. - I do love Scorpio Rising and it has the best soundtrack ever, even if it is ironic. Check me out expressing my love with a sweet Scorpio userpic.

One Hand Will Wash The Other

Izzy has the cold, aww. :( She's alright though, just a bit sniffley and has a cough. She seems a whole lot better even compared with yesterday so hopefully she's on the road to recovery already. Means she's hanging about here today though rather than going to her dad's. I'll have to think of something amusing for us to do later so we both don't go crazy and hyper.
Went to see Take A Worm For A Walk Week last night - they were having a fundraiser gig so they can finish mixing their album. It was good fun, I'd actually forgotten how fun that band are. They also seem to have well and truly given up their spandex stage costumes - which is probably for the best since at least 4/5ths of those guys are really not made for spandex.
Afterwards I went down to meet Jenna at the Vale because she and Martin were going to Slabs. I was offically too poor to go to Slabs but I said I'd go meet Jenna for a bit because the Vale is full of creepy old men. Plus, it turned out that it was just her and Martin going out and she wanted to avoid any awkwardness since they're not bf/gf anymore. Martin was working upstairs which is actually much nicer than the downstairs bit (it has a proper floor and everything). In the end he tried to convince me to come to Slabs by offering to pay me in so I had to say "Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnokay". the club night was much the same as usual, though I thought it was a bit quieter than the last few times I've been. Most people there seem to take the whole thing awfully seriously but me and Jenna always take full advantage of the opportunity to dance in the most stupid manner possible, ha.
Today my knees and bum hurt.
( Pictures, because there always are. )
Also, Kmac and Jenna have both already purchased their joint birthday present for me! Jenna says it is something small but very awesome and she wishes she had one for herself. I wonder what it could be?????

I'll Be Alive, I'll Squeeze Through The Light
Nov. 6th, 2009 | 10:09 am
Morning all!
Why is it that on Monday morning after just 3 hours sleep, I felt tired but pretty much fine, while this morning, after like eight and a half hours sleep I feel like death? Also, when I was walking home from dropping Izzy off at school, one of the pompoms fell off my furry hat! I'm going to have to sew it back on later. It has been freezing all week. I really need to buy new trousers/ jeans. The pair I'm wearing are in decent condition but don't fit well - I'm pretty sure I can pull them down over my bum without actually unfastening them and the other two pairs I have are wrecked. I need new clothes in general really.
Last night we (me, Cara, Izzy and Teresa) were down at a fireworks display near Kelvinbridge. It was alright but I've never really been that impressed by fireworks tbh. Izzy had a great time though and was jumping about like a maniac - thankfully when we got in, she went to bed without a peep.
( A few more halloween pictures stolen off my friends. )

Tea Time With Maseo

Mega pumped about halloween partying over the next few days. At the same time I'm kinda shattered though, feels like I've been making costumes forever! I was still doing Ava's 5 mins before leaving the house to go get Izzy from school today; bloody sewing on her sleeves. After school, I took Izzy round to Teresa and Cara's for a bit where we had food and I transered 17 months worth of Teresa's photos off her camera and onto her computer. At six we went down to a children's storytelling which was on in the Kibble Palace (the big glass house in the park). That was quite fun. I feel smelly - gonna have a lovely bath tomorrow morning... before I coat myself in face paint, yes that's a good idea.

Then It Died, Smiled, Fell On The Ground
Oct. 30th, 2009 | 01:51 pm

Final musical additions to the line-up for the forthcoming Ten Years Of ATP festival are:
JOSH T. PEARSON
SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE
Also confirmed:
CRISPIN GLOVER'S BIG SLIDE SHOW PARTS 1 & 2
We are excited to announce that over the course of the 10 Years of ATP weekend we will be presenting "Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Show part 1” and "Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Show part 2” in the cinema; in which Crispin Hellion Glover performs a one hour dramatic narration of eight different books that are profusely illustrated. "Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Show part 1” will be performed before his film part 1 of the IT trilogy "What is it?" then a Q&A and a book signing. "Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Show part 2” will be performed before part 2 of the IT trilogy "It is fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE" then a Q&A and a book signing.
...and...
Hip Hop Photo Legend RICKY POWELL'S WORLD FAMOUS SLIDE SHOW
Few cultural documenters can hold a candle to legendary photographer Ricky Powell. Commonly referred to as the Fourth Beastie Boy for his exploits following the fabled group, he has taken a camera where few have ventured and procured some of the most stunning and rare imagery ever seen from hip-hop groups to artists and celebrities. Ricky Powell & His World Famous Slide Show is a personally curated photographic slide show of his career.
AHHHHHHHHRG, I am SO going to see Crispin Glover and possibly stalk him for the entire festival!
Also that photography slide show looks awesome too, I wish there were more hip-hop acts at this year's ATP (Edan will be there doing an extended DJ set). I'm so excited to see Crispin Glover now though, the announcement comes just a day after me and Ava decided 'Clowny Clown Clown' should be our theme tune for this halloween (she totally stole my idea so we are both going as clowns). Shame Crispin won't be performing his musical efforts at the fest.

Also, I have finished all the halloween costumes except Ava's and I'm just waiting for her to get in and give me her tshirt to add sleves to. She has red contacts for her costume so I'm sure it'll be awesome, she's terrifying at the best of times!
Will do a proper update with pictures later when I get in - I promizzzzz!

Snake Babies On A Plane
Oct. 25th, 2009 | 10:03 am
Forgot the clocks changed last night so I accidentally got up at 8am today. :/
Was out at the ATP movie screening / Les Savy Fav gig last night at the ABC2. The movie was ace and made me all excited to go to ATP again this year - yayayayay! I was out with Jenna and Kmac but Jamie was also there - turns out he's also going to '10 Years of ATP' with a big group of people and is apparently planning to get very drunk and high while there. Perhaps I'm biased by my non-druggy ways, but I really don't undrstand going all the way to an event like this just to get wasted - after all, it's hard enough to pack everything into that weekend, even when you're sober as me.
It was good to see Jenna last night, she is still sad about breaking up with Martin the other week. She's getting better though and seems to be pretty excited about all the stuff we have planned in the next few months.
This Will Destroy You on Friday was also aces. At one point midway through the gig somebody screamed "EPIC!" - later I saw somebody commented on the Last.fm event page I'm so glad the guy who screams "EPIC" was there this year too, which I thought was quite funny. And So I Watch You From Afar were also definately worth seeing, would like to see them again if I am not too busy/ poor.

I really like this series of sculptures by Gerald Laing. They have 'Dreaming' in the Art Galleries at Kelvingrove and it's one of my favourite things in there. The profile picture of it they have on Gerald's website doesn't do it justice though, I'll take some of my own next time I'm there.

Never Be Hung Up, Hung Up Like My Man And Me
Oct. 23rd, 2009 | 12:35 am
Yay, I can go to This Will Destroy You after all! I am actually really excited about this, though possibly even more excited to see the girls and go to the ATP movie screening/ Les Savy Fav gig on Saturday.
In return for Izzy staying with Teresa and Cara tomorrow night, I am taking Cara shopping for halloween supplies on Saturday afternoon. After many hours of hard work, today I finally convinced Cara that a Pokemon trainer is maybe not the best idea for her halloween costume after all (to clarify; the plan was not to be any particular Pokemon trianer and the proposed costume mainly consisted of sewing pokeballs and a toy pokemon to her regular clothes, also the costume would require the purchase of a toy pokedex which do not come cheap from Argos). The next most popular costume choice appears to be Hello Kitty. I'm not sure how easy this will be to pull off either to be honest, though it it certianly a better idea than the Pokemon trainer thing. It might not be too bad though, last year I helped make her Picachu costume that turned out quite well, if a little but creepy.
Hopefully she will heed my advice and see what's on offer in the shops before she makes her final decision on the matter. It doesn't help that she is not keen on any of the traditional 'scary' costumes (vampire, ghost, mummy, witch, zombie, etc.) and is equally against anything too 'girly' (fairy, cheerleader, I even said she should go as Hannah Montana for a laugh). I have suggested everything I can think of from Nintendo characters to robots, to superheroes, to animals (though she seems quite into being a hamster of all things); Alice in Wonderland, Dennis the Menace, Spongebob, Wilma Flintstone, Hermione Granger, Velma from Scooby Doo and much more. I even said she could use any of my old costumes she likes - even my awesome (yet somewhat visually imparing) Bubbles the Powerpuff Girl head. She infuriatingly declined.
Any inspiration offered by my lovely lj friends is greatly welcomed. I will see her again tomorrow night which I think will be a good time to raise more suggestions. Otherwise I am fearful things will turn ugly on Saturday.

But Every Night All The Men Would Come Around And Lay Their Money Down
Oct. 22nd, 2009 | 12:16 pm
I've been feeling really hungry the last few day - I don't know if it's all in my mind or what but it's odd all the same.Yesterday I had to make myself a sandwich while cooking dinner.
I'm itching to get the material for my halloween costume soon. I am a tad scared that I am going to royally mess it up bt hopefully this will not occur. Kmac has purchased me my ticket for halloween at the Classic Grand so we're all sorted for that - yay! Sadly I might not get to go to This Will Destroy You this firday after all as Ava is going to see Passion Pit that night with Freyja. I'm going to ask Teresa if Izzy can stay with them but if not, I'll have to try and sell my ticket - boo!
The episode of Question Time featuring leader of the BNP, Nick Griffin is on tonight. It's weird that with so many peple protesting his appearance on the show, it has become must-see tv and given him and the party a lot of publicity. Personally, I don't agree with the people who will be protesting on the basis of free speech, even though I am very much against the policies and opinions held by the BNP. I'm all for getting involved with politics and causes but you can't just go protesting someone, simply because you don't agree with them. I would hope that anyone with half a brain cell who sees Nick Griffin and what he has to say tonight will be able to make their own mind on him and his party. Having said that, they did win two seats at the last European Parliament election - and I think this is really what gives me cause for concern with this issue; not the BNP themselves (there will always be fascist groups, etc) but the number of people who actually seem to agree, even partly, for what they stand for.

Oooh, so sleepy today for some reason. Perhaps because Izzy was back at school today so it's back to early rises.
Went down to get my contraceptive implant replaced today; the one I had expired a little while ago. I actually thought they would just give me an appointment to have it done another day since the last time I had it put in (3 years ago) there was a month long waiting list. They made me wait about an hour and a half in the waiting room (I could've left and came back but it was a bit cold out) but still, that's a damn sight less than a month so I guess I can't complain.
The North Lincoln gig the other night was pretty good. Got to see Shields Up, a fairly new hardcore band from Edinburgh with a good buzz about them. They aren't doing anything new, but what they do do, they do well, which is good enough really. The second band on, Year At Sea, were pretty shite. I mean, they also apparently have only been together a short time but it was obvious, plus they kept complaining that their mics weren't working or they were getting lots of feedback, blah, blah, blah, blah. I dunno, they might get decent with practice and experiance but their sound was just like what I have heard so many times before in with Scottish bands and it's not really one I dig too much.
I got to see Holy Mountian next though; another good local band - just two guys playing awesome garage rock. I've been meaning to see them for a while but bad timing and brokeness sadly prevented it but I shall definately catch them again. North Lincoln were also pretty good, I've heard they're splitting up after this tour which gave the end of the gig a slightly sad atmosphere. But then, at the end they had time for one more song then they expected and everyone went "Yeaaahhhhhh!".
Also, the gig was at the V Club which is like a small part of the club O Couture. It used to be called Reds though and they used to have the New Flesh club night there, which then moved to Privilege, which then moved to Destiny, which then died but sort of became reborn as the club nights at the Classic Grand in the end. All those clubs (except the Classic Grand obvs) are closed now, or at least changed to something new, but it was really strange being in the V Club - I just stood there thinking 'I remember being here before... but like 7 years ago". V weird.
Uuuh, feels like i'm doing crazy sleepy rambling, I'll shut up now and go to bed.

Murder In Mordor

Going out to see North Lincoln tonight, I have pretty much just enough money to. I've only been to about two gigs between now and before the summer. Things were quiet when I had money, then when there was stuff on, I was broke.
I have discovered a noise and punk gig on halloween and am in the process of trying to get Kmac to come along before we go out to the Classic Grand later that night. It's at the Flying Duck so I pointed out she and Jenna could hang out upstairs while the gig is on in the basement if they want. I doubt the rest of the gang are meeting up beforehand anyway since I already know Ben is going to see Cannibal Corpse that night. He better be dressing up if we're going out afterwards.
I think I'll get Jenna to get everyone organised with going out at halloween, we've been pretty lax at organising things lately. I haven't seen Larry and Stu for about a year - I miss them. Jamie still hasn't spoken to me (online or otherwise) since our akwardness over the summer (he finally realised after about 3 years that I have no romantic interest in him and felt like the duche he was for pursuing me for so long). It feels pretty shitty though, like he was only after one thing, I thought we were friends.
Oh, I also heard from my trusty stead Kmac last night that Jenna's bf Martin has told her he's moving to Canada in 2 months and she can pretty much choose if they break up now or when he actually leaves. I've only met him a handfull of times and he seems like a nice guy but they haven't been together very long, he must have known when he got together with her. What a knobjockey. Poor Jenna, she seems to have a rather unlucky time of it when it comes to men, I hope she dumps him now and gives 'Minxy Nenna' an outing while we are out next weekend instead.
My Painful Pleasures pre-order came yesterday, how fast was that? I thought it would take over a month anyway, the rings for my nose that I ordered won't even fit me until I'm ready to stretch up again. The 8g and 10g earskins are ace but took bloody ages to put in, I may never take them out again! The dragon tail hangy things I got are really nice though. Must take pics!
Ouch, I just snezed and punched myself in the nose! :(
I've been making Izzy's polar bear halloween costume over the past two days, there is fake fur fluff everywhere! She does look a bit more like a yeti than a polar bear with it on at the moment, perhaps it'll be better with ears and facepaint added. Or maybe I should take off the hood part and just make a hairband with ears on instead? Anyway, it's still pretty cute. I want to start mine as soon as I have money for fabric.

Passing Out Nails
Oct. 14th, 2009 | 09:48 pm
The last few days have been fairly quiet. Mum has been off work and generally annoying the rest of us. I do love my mum and she can certianly be a good laugh at times but I can't be around her too much.
She made her rosehip jelly a few days ago. The first sign of failure came when she realised that after all the boiling down, there was only actually enough to half-fill one jam jar. I wasn't really prepared though for the next day when she asked me to include it with some lunch I was making her; I tried to scoop some out with a spoon but the spoon wouldn't go in! Turns out she accidentally invented a sort of ropehip toffee instead. Even after leaving the jar out of the fridge overnight, the mixture was only marginally softer and pretty much glued to the jar. I suggested she probably needs a bit more practice at the whole jam/ jelly making thing. She still has her liqueurs on the go though. They won't be ready until the end of December, though she gave the pear one a mix recently - it still smells like paintstipper.
A little while ago I was doing logos and stationary design for my mum's friend who is starting her own business. She was apparently quite happy with them and has asked me to do a leaflet for her now, I am just waiting for her to email me with the exact specifics. This is good news as it will be good experiance and I will also get a small amount of money for it however, I feel rather like I don't know what I doing! The experinace of studying at uni has left me feeling like I half-know how to do quite a few things but not really very well. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out. The thing is, I do actually really like designing for print - I just don't know enough about it. I'll also probably be making a website for her at somepoint, which I am better and more knowlegeable at but find more dull.

I came across this picture recently recently, isn't it cool? I actually remember seeing the sculpture before (apparently it was in the millennium dome at one point) but had forgotten about it. The artist is called Ron Mueck, he makes ultra realistic sculptures of humans at different scales (from half-size to huge 10x actual size pieces) from fibreglass, silicone, etc. I think they are really interesting. Apparently, ealier in his career, he worked as a puppeteer and modelmaker for Labyrinth and Jim Henson's tv series, The Storyteller. I really wish I had The Storyteller on DVD.
I shall have to get stuff in for the halloween costume making extravaganza soon. I'm going to do Izzy's first; she decided ages ago that she wants to be a polar bear this year so no doubt there will be fake fur fluff going everywhere. Whenever I Google Search 'harlequin' to research my own costume (I'm planning to do a sort of harlequin/ clown/ acrobat type thing), a lot of pictures of fetuses with a severe "harlequin ichthyosis" skin condition come up, which is kind of upsetting.

It's so cold today. I thought it would start cold and get warmer as the day went on - that's what happened yesterday and it was quite warm in the afternoon. That didn't happen though, it's still cold. Brrrrrr!
Got my This Will Destoy You ticket today, they didn't have a lot left - I'd say less than ten based on the size of the wad (oo-er) so I'm so pleased I snagged one.
Kmac says she has befriended a large Russian man in her uni class. Apparently he is "like Sven from the Georgia Nicolson books", "sounds like Death from Bill and ted 2" and is "a huge Melvins fan". Kmac says he may be coming along to the ATP movie screening/ Les Savy Fav gig and possibly also the ATP festival if he can get tickets. I think he will be a valuable addition to our gang.
Also, I found the trailer for the ATP movie (at last!):
There's more footage on the ATPTheFilm channel btw, including LIGHTNING BOLT - so excited to see them, yay!

It's been ages since I've had a Love and Rockets geek-out entry, so please just bear with me. See that image I'm using for my icon atm, I proper love it.
( Cut For Big Picture )
Gay For Johnny Depp and Crocodiles have been added to the list of bands playing in the next few months that I'd like to see.
Otherwise, life is boring. Nothing has happened and I have nothing to report. Over and out.

Today is Izzy's birthday - a whole five years old - oo-er! She got a bunch of nice toys from us, she'll probably get more when she goes over to see my dad and Teresa and Cara on Thursday. We're going to do something fun to celebrate with Cara and Izzy's friend Emily on Saturday.
Bad news - my camera is broken! I don't even know how this happened, I just found it on my bed yesterday and the lens was that half in/ half out way. Boooooo, I can't be affording to get it fixed right now, plus last time it was repaired, it took like 6 weeks before I got it back.
Had my doctor's appointment this morning. She wrote me a prescription for some cream and a good moisturiser and I've to go back in two weeks to see how it's working.
I watched some movie about Jane Austen with Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy in it last night. I usually hate films with Anne Hathaway, she always plays such sappy characters. I usualy like James McAvoy though but his face was really strange looking, like he was a bit constipated thoughout, it was really strange.

Sooner Than You Think

I was so busy last week. I organised Ava's birthday tea and got in all the stuff for it. It was really good fun though. Only a select few of Ava's friends and family were there; me, Ava, Izzy and Cara, Ava's college friends Alison and Nicola and old friends from school Freyja, Caitlin, Ruth, Divya and Darren Gibson. We played a bunch of stupid games including a horrific homemade 'pin the tail on the donkey'.

Needless to say it had quite a few hand-drawn additions by the end of the party. We also played dooking for apples where you won a prize if your apple had a picture of Darren sellotaped to it. Unfortunately when we went to print Darren's mugshot, we first printed an A4 sized copy by accident which Ava later decided to us to decorate the inside of the toilet lid. It was actually quite creepy to go the loo, though it was fun spending the party plying Darren with drinks so he would eventually have to go and discover it.
The rest of the week flew in and was mainly spent tidying and cleaning, though when Mum came back on Friday, she was really pissed and claimed the place was filthy (WTF, that woman is crazy). I might have been something to do with Izzy's bedclothes hanging outside when she got back but that was because Iz had been sick during the night, possibly because of some dodgey custard creams.
We were over at my Dad's for a bit on Friday so he could see Ava for her birthday and so on. There was more cake too. Afterwards we came back to get ready to go out for Ava's birthday night out. Julia came over after work to get ready with us too and we all went out to the Garage (aka Ava's second home) at about half ten. The guys from Ava's work; Ross, Stuart and Jack were there too, unfortunately as was Jack's psycho-jealous girlfriend, Stacey who thinks there is more to Ava and Jack's relationship than worktime laughs (there is not). When she was in the lavs, one of Stacey's mates went up to Ava and randomly told her she hates her which was a pretty bastardy thing to do. Av' was a bit upset but we just went away to dance somewhere that they would not be nearby.
The rest of the night was quite fun and I remember dancing to lots of chart songs that I hate. Ava, who was reather drunken, befriended one of the staff and was helping him sweep the floor. Ava's friend Divya was there who is notoriously badly behaved when out with them (usually ditching everyone when she meets a guy or causing a scene if no guys are interested in her) but she seemed to be on quite good behavior, though she's a bit serious and not that much fun to be out with. Freyja, Ruth and Julia are a good laugh though, I'm glad Ava is friends with cool kids like them. Sadly Caitlin couldn't make it out because her grandad had a stroke the same day. I love Caitlin, I hope she's okay.
Mum's friend Hazel left to back to Newcastle this afternoon. She wants me to design a logo for a business she's starting up. I'll possibly have to do a website a somepoint in the future too. She's pretty much left it open for me to make anything that contains the company name and would suitable but I only have a few days to send her roughs as she needs the finished logos on some sample letters for Friday.
I have a doctor's appointment for my skin on Monday. I have psoriasis, usually just a few smallish patches on my body which I can treat with moisturisers and are mostly covered up with clothes but I had a flare up last week, probably caused by being ill a few weeks ago (it's somehow linked to my imune system). Now I have little red spots all over, particularly on my arms and bum. It's itchy and looks gross. I'm hoping the doc sends me for uv treatment (which is kinda like prescribed sunbeds) since all other treatments are horrible slimey creams that don't seem to work half as well. They don't want you to have the uv treatment too often though since it is obviously not good to expose your skin to a lot of uv rays. I'll just have to wait and see what she says.

Rraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggg! I'm cursed!
My brain doesn't know the differance between week days and the weekend so I was up this morning at half seven again.
Mum has gone away on holiday elsewhere in Scotland while her friend Hazel from Newcastle is visiting. It's Ava's birthday on Tuesday so we've been getting things in for a birthday tea when she gets home from college. I spent ages wrapping the pass the parcel yesterday - it doesn't matter she's going to be 19, we're still playing pass the parcel. I have to go food shopping today, we pretty much have nothing except sweets and cake for Tuesday.
( Rambling about gigs and being poor. )
